Bucks County man charged with threatening U.S. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick
Aaron Michael McComsey, of Perkasie, was arrested on Thursday. A source familiar with the investigation confirmed that the member of Congress is Brian Fitzpatrick.

A 44-year-old Bucks County man was arrested Thursday and charged with threatening a federal official, which the indictment identifies as “Congressman B.F.,” U.S. Attorney David Metcalf announced.
A source familiar with the investigation confirmed that the member of Congress is Bucks County Republican Brian Fitzpatrick. Metcalf, the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, did not publicly name the member of Congress.
Aaron Michael McComsey was charged by indictment with two counts of threatening to assault, murder, or kidnap a federal official.
McComsey lives in Perkasie, which is in Fitzpatrick’s district.
Also, McComsey allegedly sent an email to the federal official’s office that said: “Can’t wait for the next eagle scout graduation. That’s his end.”
Fitzpatrick was an Eagle Scout, and celebrates when someone achieves the highest rank of Scouting America, formerly called the Boy Scouts of America.
A spokesperson for Fitzpatrick could not be reached for comment.
McComsey allegedly sent emails complaining about his healthcare and its cost, and blaming the member of Congress.
“Aetna dropped me. Medicare doesn’t cover drugs. And medicaid is refusing to pay. I go into withdrawal in 36 hours. After that time, B.F. is no more on this earth. Fix this or he goes bye bye forever,” McComsey allegedly wrote.
He also allegedly wrote: “I have his entire schedule for the rest of the summer into fall. I know exactly where and when B.F. will be on any given day. I have nothing else to do but plan and scheme and make sure they all pay dearly. And their families too … ”
In another quote taken from an email, McComsey allegedly wrote: “B.F can send me my 6000 stipend for August immediately to my cash app account….And I will expect another 6000 each month after….Or I’m coming for all the liars and frauds in this country….I will burn them out."
It was unclear on Thursday if McComsey had a lawyer.
Metcalf said the case was investigated by the U.S. Capitol Police, and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office assisted with the case.
