Eagles to play the Cowboys on Thanksgiving this season on Fox

It's been more than a decade since the Eagles have played on Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving will have a little more juice in Philly this season.

The Eagles will face the Dallas Cowboys in Week 12 as part of the NFL’s annual turkey day lineup at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 26, Fox announced Monday.

The last time the Eagles played on Thanksgiving was in 2015, when they lost in a blowout to the Detroit Lions. They defeated the Cowboys the year before during the 2014 Thanksgiving game, and lost to the Chicago Bears in last season’s Black Friday game the day after the holiday.

All told, the Birds have played seven Thanksgiving games, including 1989’s so-called “Bounty Bowl” against the Cowboys, in which then-Eagles head coach Buddy Ryan was accused of putting bounties on Dallas quarterback Troy Aikman and kicker Luis Zendejas, who had been cut by Philly.

Fox also announced it added two national games to its traditional weekend afternoon schedule — a Saturday game in Week 15, and a Sunday morning Week 10 international game that will be played in Munich, Germany, hosted by the Lions.

While the full 2026 NFL schedule won’t be released until Thursday at 8 p.m., Eagles fans might find out another game or two before then, thanks to network upfronts, presentations to advertisers where broadcasters reveal their upcoming slate.

ESPN parent-company Disney will make its presentation Tuesday, when they’ll almost certainly reveal a Monday Night Football game or two. You might also hear they’re broadcasting next season’s Super Bowl.

The NFL Network, Netflix, and YouTube will make presentations Wednesday. Netflix could stream as many as five NFL games this season, which would include Christmas, a late-season Saturday game, and a Week 1 matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne, Australia.

In addition to the traditional three Thanksgiving games — airing on CBS, Fox, and NBC — the league is also reportedly adding a Thanksgiving Eve game this season. Amazon will also stream a Black Friday game again.
