Eagles-Rams: Start time, channel, how to watch and stream
Eagles fans will hear a couple of familiar voices in the booth on Fox calling Sunday's Rams game.
After surviving the Washington Commanders last week, the undefeated Eagles (4-0) travel across the country to take on the Los Angeles Rams (2-2) at Sofi Stadium Sunday afternoon at 4:05 p.m. on Fox.
Though the Eagles are favored on the road, the Rams have been a tough opponent this season and will get back All-Pro receiver Cooper Kupp, who will be playing his first game since suffering a season-ending ankle injury in a Week 9 loss to the Arizona Cardinals last season. The Eagles will be down some players on defense, including veteran defensive tackle Fletcher Cox and safety Sydney Brown.
It’s one of eight late-afternoon games the Eagles are scheduled to play this season, the most since 2014, when they played six. Thanks to the increased attention on the Eagles following their Super Bowl appearance last season, the Eagles still have three primetime games remaining on their schedule and only play at 1 p.m. twice more the rest of the season through Week 17.
So why a 4:05 p.m. start time and not the normal 4:25 p.m. kickoff? This week, CBS has the national doubleheader, so it’s scheduled to air games at 1 p.m. and 4:25 p.m. (today’s national game is the latest installment of the Taylor Swift show, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Minnesota Vikings). With no national doubleheader, Fox’s late afternoon games — Eagles vs. Rams and Cincinnati Bengals vs. Arizona Cardinals — are scheduled for 4:05 p.m.
The Eagles are also scheduled to play the late-afternoon window next week against the New York Jets on Fox, though the NFL bumped it out of being the national game of the week in the first flex of the season, replacing it with Detroit Lions vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (who will be wearing their classic orange creamsicle uniforms).
It almost certainly won’t be the final flex the NFL makes the season. The Jets, Chicago Bears, Denver Broncos, and Carolina Panthers are a combined 3-13, and are still scheduled to play in 10 primetime games. The league never focuses on getting the best games in primetime, but almost always tries to move terrible matchups out of its most-watched windows.
Just a reminder — the NFL can flex games in and out of Sunday Night Football twice between Weeks 5 and 10, and as many times as it wants during Weeks 11 and 17. This season, it can also flex games into Monday Night Football between Weeks 12-17, and Thursday Night Football twice between Weeks 13 and 17.
Here’s everything you need to know to watch or stream the Eagles’ Sunday afternoon game against the Rams on Fox.
What time and channel is the Eagles game today?
Today’s game between the Eagles and Rams is scheduled to kick off at 4:05 p.m. Eastern on Fox.
Calling today’s game are two familiar voices for Eagles fans — Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen, who were on the call for Super Bowl LVII, when the Birds came close to toppling the Kansas City Chiefs.
Burkhardt grew up an Eagles fan in northern New Jersey, and his road to replacing Joe Buck at Fox included a stint as a used car salesman. It’s his third-straight season calling games with Olsen, the former Carolina Panthers tight end who is set to be replaced in the top booth by Tom Brady next season.
“Kevin and I are going to try to call fun games. We’re going to call the games the way we see it... until they tell me I’m no longer in this position,” Olsen told The Athletic last month. “Then when that time comes, we’ll figure out what the next steps are. As we sit here right now, my mindset is I’m doing games this year and hopefully beyond.”
Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi will be on the sidelines reporting at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.
Eagles-Rams will also air on the radio on 94.1 WIP, where fans can listen to the familiar voices of Merrill Reese and former Eagles receiver Mike Quick. WIP host Howard Eskin will handle sideline reporting duties. You can either tune in on the radio or stream it for free on the Audacy app.
Rickie Ricardo, Oscar Budejen, and Bill Kulik will call Eagles-Rams in Spanish on La Mega 105.7 FM in Philadelphia
