Eagles to place guard Landon Dickerson on injured reserve
Dickerson struggled in the Eagles' Week 1 win over the Commanders and has battled multiple injuries.
The Eagles are placing left guard Landon Dickerson on injured reserve, NFL sources told The Inquirer.
Dickerson, 27, has been playing with various ailments and clearly struggled in the team’s Week 1 opener, a 24-22 win over the Commanders.
Drew Kendall is likely first in line to take Dickerson’s place up front, with a shift at center also possible.
Dickerson underwent meniscus surgery during training camp last year but returned to practice approximately two weeks later, later acknowledging that his return was premature.
“Probably shouldn’t have gone out there and played, but you live and you learn,” Dickerson said after the third practice of Eagles training camp this summer. “You do stupid stuff when you’re young. I learned that mistake.”
The season before, in Super Bowl LIX, Dickerson played through a left knee injury that required offseason surgery. In addition to the meniscus injury last season, he dealt with a back issue, plus an ankle injury that sidelined him in Week 6 against the New York Giants.
Kendall, a fifth-round pick out of Boston College in 2025, played in seven games last season — including a start in the season finale against the Commanders when the Eagles rested most of their starters — and also appeared in Sunday’s win against Washington.
