When is the NFL trade deadline?
The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 10, at 4 p.m.
This comes shortly after the conclusion of Week 9. That means the Eagles have two more games — both against division opponents — before the deadline passes. First, the Eagles play the Washington Commanders on Sunday Night Football in Week 8, then they host the New York Giants on Sunday, Nov. 8, two days before the deadline.

What big trades have been made so far?
Here’s a look at some major trades that have gone down around the NFL since Oct. 1:
DT DeForest Buckner: The Indianapolis Colts sent Buckner, a veteran defensive tackle, to the San Francisco 49ers for a 2027 fourth-round pick.
G Quenton Nelson: The Colts traded the All-Pro offensive guard to the Seattle Seahawks for a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick.
WR Marvin Harrison Jr.: The Arizona Cardinals dealt Harrison Jr., a St. Joe’s Prep grad, and 2027 seventh-round pick to the Houston Texans for a 2027 second-round pick and a 2027 sixth-round pick.
CB Joey Porter Jr.: Following a contract dispute, the Pittsburgh Steelers traded the defensive back to the Dallas Cowboy for a conditional 2027 sixth-round pick and a 2028 second-rounder.

Will the Eagles be buyers or sellers?
The Eagles are 2-5 and in the midst of a five-game losing streak, so conventional wisdom suggests the team will most likely be sellers. That would allow them to look toward the future and acquire draft picks, and possibly unload some big contracts that could free up cap space for next season.
The team is full of stars — some on big-money deals, others on expiring contracts — that could fetch a big return. They also have depth players that could help get a contending team over the proverbial hump.

But given the current state of the NFC East, there’s a chance the Eagles arrive at the deadline still in contention for the division crown, although that’s looking less likely by the week.
If the Eagles do wind up as sellers, two big questions remain: Who will Howie Roseman and Co. decide to move? And what can they get in return?
Which Eagles players could be traded?
Eagles writer Jeff Neiburg recently identified eight players as potential trade candidates:
RB Saquon Barkley (signed through 2028)
LB Zack Baun (through ‘28)
G Landon Dickerson (through ‘28)
TE Dallas Goedert (expiring contract)
DT Moro Ojomo (expiring)
EDGE Nolan Smith Jr. (through ‘27)

What is Howie Roseman’s history at the deadline?
Roseman is known as one of the more aggressive general managers, especially this time of year. The Eagles have made at least one trade deadline deal in seven of the last nine years, with the majority of those moves coming as a buyer.
One of Roseman’s first big deadline moves was acquiring running back Jay Ajayi (for a fourth-round pick) in 2017. The deal paid dividends as the Eagles went on to win their first Super Bowl. The following season, it was wideout Golden Tate (for a third-round pick) before the Birds’ title defense fell short. In 2019, with the team struggling out of the gate but still very much in a championship window, Roseman added edge rusher Genard Avery (for a fourth-round pick) after previously acquiring linebacker Duke Riley and a sixth-rounder (for Johnathan Cyprien and a seventh-rounder).
Perhaps the best two comparisons for this season are 2020 and 2021, with the latter being Nick Sirianni’s first as head coach. Both years, the Eagles were under .500 heading into the deadline. In 2020, the final year of the Doug Pederson Era, Roseman stayed put at the deadline even though the Eagles were somehow atop their division at 3-4-1. The following year, the 3-5 Eagles were sellers, dealing Zach Ertz to the Cardinals and Joe Flacco to the Jets. They also made one addition, landing cornerback Kary Vincent Jr. (for a sixth-round pick)

In 2022, the Eagles got off to a flying start and were unbeaten at the deadline. Roseman only made one move, acquiring defensive end Robert Quinn (for a 2023 fourth-round pick), who appeared in the Super Bowl LVII loss to the Kansas City Chiefs and then retired later that year. The Eagles were again undefeated at the 2023 deadline, and Roseman again made one splashy move. The team added safety Kevin Byard (for Terrell Edmunds, a fifth-, and a sixth-round pick). They also made a minor trade later, sending defensive tackle Kentavius Street to the Falcons.
Following a quiet 2024 (the Eagles were 6-2 at the deadline that season), Roseman was again active last year. The team added defensive backs Jaire Alexander (for a sixth-round pick) and Michael Carter II (and a pick, for wide receiver John Metchie and a pick), as well as edge rusher Jaelan Phillips (for a third round pick). Alexander retired after the trade and never played a snap. Phillips was a key contributor down the stretch and parlayed that into a big contract in Carolina. And Carter is still on the Eagles, but could be dealt again this year.

What trades have the Eagles made so far?
Here’s a look at the moves Roseman and the Eagles have made so far:
C Cam Jurgens: The day after right tackle Lane Johnson abruptly retired, the Eagles traded Jurgens, a two-time Pro Bowl center, and a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Baltimore Ravens in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick.

What are the latest Eagles rumors?
Here are the latest rumors and reports involving the Birds ...
Quenton Nelson: According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Eagles were among the teams inquiring about the Colts guard before he was traded to the Seahawks. While the Eagles are most likely sellers, The Inquirer’s Jeff McLane reported on his unCovering the Birds podcast earlier this month that Roseman was shopping for a “starting caliber offensive lineman.”
