Run by sisters Rhonda Saltzman and Mercedes Brooks, Second Daughter went from side-hustle to Philly must-try during the pandemic, thanks to flower-decorated cakes, Nutella-brownie tarts, hand pies and more baked there in the Bok building. Some of their goods have been refined over time; others, like the sweet potato tart and giant spice roll, are newer — meticulously developed and tested for consistency until just right.
