The weekend brought word of two closings:

Old Eagle Tavern, the beer specialist at Markle and Terrace Streets in Manayunk, which opened in 2003, made its final last call on Sunday, Aug. 25. Owner Erin Wallace, who still has Devil’s Den, said there was “no crazy reason” for the decision to sell the building and business. A new buyer is waiting, pending settlement.

South Philly SmokHaus, Eric Daelhousen’s critically praised barbecue operation on the Dudley Street side of the Bok Building in South Philadelphia, is buttoned up after 10 months, as is the butcher counter in the same space run by Robert Passio of Giunta’s Prime at Reading Terminal Market.

Daelhousen has retained Vincent Stipo of MSC Retail to search for a new tenant for the fully fit-out restaurant, which includes a commercial hood, smoker and other equipment, and furniture. It’s set up behind a roll-up garage door.
