The Newtown-raised ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcaster is pregnant
Podcast host Alex Cooper announced her pregnancy Sunday morning on Instagram.

For years, Alex Cooper has called herself “father” on her Call Her Daddy podcast. Now, the Newtown native is about to unveil a new title: mother.
“Daddy Gang, there is something I’ve been waiting to share with you…..,” Cooper posted on Instagram Stories on Sunday.
Pictures of the 31-year-old podcaster holding her baby bump, while sitting on husband’s Matt Kaplan, 42, lap, soon followed. As well as a post captioned: “Our family 🤍”
The pair married in Riviera Maya, Mexico, in 2024.
A California native, Kaplan is best known as a producer in the Netflix To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before franchise.
Cooper, who grew up in Bucks County with a psychologist mom and TV hockey producer dad, became widely known for the viral podcast she and then-roommate Sofia Franklyn started in 2018, Call Her Daddy. She referred to herself as “Father Cooper” due to her being both the podcast’s “founding father” and a “single father” after Franklyn left the podcast.
Through talking about the realities of dating, sex, and getting celebrities to talk about some of their private moments, Cooper became a household name.

After Franklyn left over compensation issues, Cooper secured an exclusive $60 million podcasting deal with Spotify in 2021, bringing in an average of 5 million listeners per week in 2023.
As the world finds out about her bundle of joy, Cooper shared one last sentiment on her Instagram Stories.
“Honestly happy I can finally stop trying to hide the bump lol,” Cooper wrote on a picture of her bump next to a bag of gummy candies.
