Philadelphia police are investigating the death of an infant in Northern Liberties
While the girl's cause of death has not been determined, police said she had puncture wounds.
A newborn was found dead in the Northern Liberties section of Philadelphia Saturday afternoon, police said.
Right before 1 p.m., police arrived at an apartment complex on the 1100 block of North American Street. An unresponsive infant girl was found inside, police said.
The medical examiner’s office has not determined an official cause of death, but police said the baby had puncture wounds.
She was pronounced dead by a medic at 1:08 p.m.
The investigation remains active and ongoing, police said.
