A man was shot on the Market-Frankford Line in Center City

The man was shot in the stomach and transported to a local hospital, where he was in stable condition. Police are searching for a suspect.

A man was shot in the stomach while riding the L train in Center City on Thursday afternoon.

SEPTA Transit Police were investigating the shooting, which occurred around 1:30 p.m. on a westbound L train, also known as the Market-Frankford Line, at 15th Street Station located under City Hall and Dilworth Plaza.

Police transported the injured man, who was not identified, to a nearby hospital, where he was in stable condition, according to SEPTA. A search was underway for a suspect, whom police did not identify.

L train and trolley service resumed after having been stopped for around 30 minutes, a SEPTA spokesperson said.
