Bill Cosby isn't the only prominent Philadelphian in hot water over the Cosby rape allegations. Soul singer Jill Scott caused a controversy on Twitter after she tweeted in support of the embattled comedian.
On Nov. 24, one of Scott's followers tweeted her a link to a petition asking Temple to end its relationship with Cosby, who has since resigned from the Temple University Board of Trustees. Scott also has a connection to Temple — she received an honorary doctorate from the university in May 2014.
The North Philly native's response didn't go over too well with her fans, who began tweeting her their disappointment.
About a week later on Nov. 30, another follower tweeted that Scott wasn't respecting her platform as an influential performer regarding her tweets in support of Cosby. The singer continued to defend Cosby as recently as yesterday.
After multiple Twitter exchanges defending Cosby, Scott tweeted about rape calling it a cowardly crime and advising her followers to "GET EVIDENCE" if raped.
