Some Philly fathers joined their daughters at Philadelphia Dance Center's daddy-daughter ballet class this week for a touching, if somewhat ungraceful, display of love on Valentine's Day that has since gone viral.
Philadelphia Dance Center posted videos of the Valentine's Day dance class to Facebook, where several videos had racked up more than 20 million views at the time of this posting.
One clip shows several Philly dads dancing along with their daughters to "Waltz of the Flowers" from Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker Suite," including one particularly devoted dad in a pink tutu. In another, the dads learn to pirouette. In a third, they try their hands (or feet) at some jumps.
PDC on Wednesday thanked viewers for checking out the videos of the class, writing on Facebook that the school is "overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from around the world."
"Thank you for recognizing the beauty, love, and joy that dance can bring into the world," PDC wrote. "It just proves that art, love and family are the international language."
The dads, however, weren't the only parents to join their kids at dance class this week. PDC hosted a mother-daughter hip-hop dance class on Wednesday.
"We wanted to share what we do in class with the parents who come to watch them," PDC owner Tom McIntyre told NBC10. "It was great to teach the parents what their kids learn."
