Anastasi Raw Bar opens in Manayunk

The Anastasi seafood family's fourth generation has added a bar-restaurant on Main Street.

The Anastasi seafood family's fourth generation is casting its net a bit wider.

Four years after adding the BYOB Pescatore in Bala Cynwyd, siblings Mia and Tommy Anastasi and Pescatore general manager Frank Kemp have opened Anastasi Raw Bar in Manayunk.

They're in their early days at 4161 Main St. (215-482-1800), which has been Beast & Ale, Bisou, Gemelli, and MangoMoon in the last several years. It's a light redecoration in the industrial space - whimsical fish-head paintings replacing Beast & Ale's mounted game and subway tiles taking up the wall behind the bar to lend a fish-house feeling. (They've left the home-spun charm at the family's flagship seafood market/eatery at Ninth Street and Washington Avenue in South Philadelphia.)

In the early going, it's open every day at 5 p.m.
