It's Barcade, a lively bar coming to a former electrical-supply warehouse on Frankford Avenue in Fishtown in mid-September.
Partners Paul Kermizian and Pete Langway, who have Barcades in Brooklyn and Jersey City, say they'd been scouting Philly for several years.
Over the course of a year, they scooped out mounds of debris from the building at 1114 Frankford Ave., between Girard Avenue and Delaware Avenue and up the street from the Barbary. It's a cool, old building with a vaulted wood-beam ceiling and corrugated-steel walls. They reclaimed much of the material -- wood was shaped into the bar.
Beers are all American crafts. No bottles. No cans. No TVs. Twenty-four taps, one hand pump. Menu will be sandwiches, and "snacky" finger foods. "You need a hand free for a beer or a joystick," Kermizian quipped.
The arcade list -- and games are a quarter each -- includes Ms. Pac-Man, Rampage, Tapper, Defender, Wrestlefest, Double Dragon, Donkey Kong, Gauntlet, Frogger and Tron.
