Bethann Cinelli is a professor at West Chester University.

Barbara Fentress is president and executive director for Surrey Services.

Francis Murphy is a retired partner at KPMG L.L.P.

Curtis Nelson is vice president at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch.

Brad Palmer is executive for the Conestoga Group.

David Penske is owner of Penske Buick-GMC Trucks.

Sean Sweeney is chief marketing officer for Philadelphia Insurance Co.

Marjorie Thomas is executive director of Devon Manor.

The Hill at Whitemarsh, a continuing-care retirement community in Lafayette Hill, appointed the following members to its board:

Frank Polizzi Sr. is president and founder of Mass Marketing Insurance Group Inc.

Frank "Mack" Stulb is president of L.F. Driscoll Co., Philadelphia.

Chris Van de Velde is a former township manager for Whitemarsh Township and is a trustee at Arcadia University.

Shaun O'Malley is the retired chairman of Price Waterhouse L.L.P., now part of PricewaterhouseCoopers L.L.P.

Jessica Kornblum Moore is senior director of product planning for Comcast Interactive Media.

Children's Village, a nonprofit organization and accredited early childhood center that serves low-income children and their families in Chinatown, named the following to its board:

Susan Hansen is executive director and chief executive officer of Green Tree Community Health Foundation.

Heseung Ann Song is president and CEO of the Osiris Group.

The Institute for Economic Development, a public-private partnership of Chester County's major employers, elected Mark H. Dambly chairman. He is president of Pennrose Properties L.L.C.

D. Michael Baxter was elected president of the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians, a Harrisburg single specialty physician organization. Baxter is chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Reading Hospital.

The Economy League of Greater Philadelphia, a regional nonprofit public-policy organization, elected the following members to its board:

Chris Daniels is director of sales and operations for the Mid-Atlantic States district of Microsoft, Malvern.

Maryalice S. DeCamp is managing director of the Mid-Atlantic region at Jefferson Wells, Philadelphia.

BioClinica Inc., a Newtown provider of clinical-trial-management services, appointed James W. Lovett to its board. Lovett is general counsel of Covance Inc. and is secretary of that company's board.

Mayor Nutter appointed John Saler, chairman of the Government & Public Affairs Group of Stradley, Ronon, Stevens & Young L.L.P., chair of the Mayor's Airport Advisory Board. Pamela Harper, chief operating officer and chief compliance officer of StoneRidge Investment Partners, was selected as vice chair.

PathWays PA Inc., a Philadelphia nonprofit social-services agency that serves low-income women, children, and families, appointed Kelly O'Leary to its board. She is senior vice president and Pennsylvania regional manager for Chubb & Son.

Mace Security International Inc., the Horsham pepper-spray and surveillance product maker, elected Michael E. Smith to its board. Smith is an independent consultant and the founder of Chesterbrook Growth Partners and was president and CEO of Checkpoint Systems Inc.

Jonathan Kane, a partner in the Labor and Employment Practice Group of Pepper Hamilton L.L.P., was appointed co-chair of the Pro Bono Work Committee of the American Bar Association's Section of Labor and Employment Law.

Joseph A. Gerber was elected a trustee of the Chubb Foundation, a nonprofit that provides college scholarships for deserving students. He is an attorney with Cozen O'Connor and is chair of the firm's client relations activities and co-chairs the crisis response and management practice.

Matt Ryan, a trial lawyer with Duane Morris L.L.P., was appointed to the Development Programs Committee of the boards of directors of Catholic Social Services of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The division manages residential and community-based programs for adults and children.
