An Upper Darby man will serve 3 ½ years to 7 years in prison for a 2012 hit-and-run crash that killed a Boothwyn man.
Pacurie Huynh, 29, who was sentenced in Delaware County Court Friday, pleaded guilty earlier this year to causing an accident that involved death and failing to give information, a third-degree felony.
The victim, Thomas Quercetti, 28, was walking home from a friend's house about 1:30 a.m. on July 4, 2012, on the shoulder of North State Road in Springfield Township, Delaware County, when he was stuck. After several months on life-support, he died in February, the Delaware County District Attorney's office said.
Police said there was no indication that the vehicle tried to stop. Evidence collected at the scene indicated that the car was a Toyota 4Runner, which used a specific kind of headlamp. Huynh was tracked down via a part he ordered to repair the Toyota.
