Pa. state college contracts get union OK

Faculty and coaches in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education voted this week in favor of the tentative three-year contract agreement that ended an October strike, the union announced.

Of faculty who voted, 94 percent supported the agreement, while 100 percent of coaches voted in favor, according to the Association of Pennsylvania State College and University Faculties, which represents about 5,500 members.

Details of the agreement will not be released until after the system's board of governors votes, the union said. The board is set to vote at 9 a.m. on Dec. 20.

The system's universities include Bloomsburg, California, Cheyney, Clarion, East Stroudsburg, Edinboro, Indiana, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville, Shippensburg, Slippery Rock, and West Chester.
