A small homemade bomb was discovered in the parking lot of a Montgomery County business and was safely disposed of today, police said.

A small homemade bomb was discovered in the parking lot of a Montgomery County business and was safely disposed of today, police said.

Around 12:30 p.m., the small improvised device was discovered in the parking lot of Landis Brothers Inc. at 108 Yerkes Road in the Collegeville section of Upper Providence Township, police said.

It was detonated on scene by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department Bomb Squad, police said. Investigators believe the device was left in the empty lot sometime between last night and 6:30 a.m. today.
