Philly police release videos of suspects in 2 homicides
One victim was shot dead in West Oak Lane in July of last year. The other was fatally stabbed in Kensington in March of this year.
Philadelphia police on Tuesday released two videos showing suspects wanted in two separate homicides -- one from last year, another from this year.
In one video, two men are seen on July 27 getting out of a 2010-2015 Hyundai Elantra, driven by a third person, in the 2000 block of Haines Street in West Oak Lane.
After one of the two shot victim Khalid Harris, 39, who lived in the neighborhood, several times at about 8 p.m., they fled in Harris' black pickup truck, which was later recovered in the 4900 block of Disston Street in Tacony, police said. Harris was taken by private vehicle to Einstein Medical Center, where he pronounced dead that night.
One of the suspects was described as a black man, in his late 20s to early 30s. He was about 5-foot-11 to 6-foot-1 and of medium build. The second was a black man, about 30 years old and of thin build.
Separately, police released another video of a suspect wanted in a fatal stabbing in Kensington on March 18. About 6:45 p.m. that day, victim Robert Gore, 39, was found lying in the 3200 block of G Street suffering from a stab wound to the chest. He was taken by police to Temple University Hospital, where he died about 20 minutes later.
Police described the suspect seen in the video as a black man about 30 years old. He is about 5-foot-7, of medium build and appears to have a mustache and goatee. He was wearing a black knit hat, black-hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black athletic shoes with a distinct white marking, police said. He was last seen walking west on Clearfield Street approaching Rorer.
As with all homicides, there is a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
