Girl, 6, accidentally shoots herself in Olney
Accident occurred in the basement of a house in the 4800 block of North Eighth Street.
A 6-year-old girl was hospitalized in stable condition after accidentally shooting herself in the foot Tuesday afternoon in the city's Olney section, police said.
Police said the accident occurred just after 4:40 p.m. in the basement of a house in the 4800 block of North Eighth Street.
The girl reportedly found the gun in a school bag and shot herself in the left foot, police said.
Her mother drove her to Einstein Medical Center. Police recovered the gun and were investigating the circumstances of the accident.
