Here are some highlights from Eagles head coach Doug Pederson and quarterback Carson Wentz's postgame press conferences:

Doug Pederson

On whether he thought the Eagles would be this good at this point in the season:

[He paused.] I know this about our football team, and it's been this way now for a year and a half: it doesn't matter what happens with injuries on our roster. The next guy — the coaches do an outstanding job of getting that next guy ready and prepared to play.

You know, obviously, coming into this season, to kind of follow up on the question, I think in the back of my mind, you kind of hope and you want to be a good football team. Everybody aspires to be good football teams. But the way we're doing it, with the amount of backup players in these first five weeks, is a testament to the coaching staff and the players in that dressing room, and the resiliency they have — to never quit.

On what the team’s potential is now:

I think the sky is the limit, you know? The key is just staying grounded and staying focused on our job, and focused on the next game. And as you know, these wins, these losses, whatever, are short-lived in this business, and you've got to get yourself ready to go within 24 hours.

On what has fueled Nelson Agholor’s improvement:

It's confidence. It's total confidence. And you know, I think it's me believing in him, the coaching staff on offense believing in him, the players around him believing in him. I see this kid every single day, and the way he walks in the building with confidence, nothing gets him down. He works extremely hard, and he's playing at a very high level right now.

On what he saw from Torrey Smith in practice this week, and the big touchdown catch Sunday:

He's a veteran player. He never gets down on himself. He keeps coming to work every day and works extremely hard, and works with Carson in practice, before and after. He's another one that just says, "Hey, okay, I made a couple mistakes, it's behind me, let's move forward." It was exciting for him today. Made some big plays, obviously, down the field, and that's the type of player he is.

Things are going to happen. Guys are going to make mistakes out there. When you're playing 65 or 70 snaps a game, there's going to be mistakes. But it's how fast they can put it behind them and move forward, and that's one thing Torrey has the ability to do.

On his touchdown pass to Nelson Agholor:

They brought an all-out blitz there. If you guys go back and watch it, Jason Kelce made an unbelievable play. He ended up blocking two guys. I shouldn't have had the time to get that one off, but he made an unbelievable play, and then Nelson did the rest. He made the catch and made the guy look silly. So hats off to the big boys up front, and Nellie getting open.

On Torrey Smith’s touchdown:

It was big. That's big for both he and I. We've missed a couple down the field. Both of us have had our share of faults on those. So to hit that one today, to hit it on a third down like we did, that was a huge play in the game, and just good to see. I've never lost faith in him, and it showed today. Just keep going back to him, and he got the job done.

On whether he believes this game was his best yet with the Eagles:

I'm not sure. We'll se on the film. I know offensively, though, we were doing some things pretty well. To come out swinging like we did early in the game, to put 21 [points] up right away, and kind of just stay on it. Did we have mistakes? For sure. I still missed some throws. We had our share of mistakes, too. But I think collectively, we played some really good football today.
