Sixers will open NBA Cup play vs. Knicks as schedule release continues

The Sixers’ other NBA Cup group play games will be Nov. 6 at the Cleveland Cavaliers (Amazon Prime), Nov. 25 vs. the Miami Heat (ESPN), and Nov. 27 at the Indiana Pacers.

The new-look 76ers continue to be featured in premier games during the NBA’s 2026-27 schedule release.

They will host the New York Knicks on the first night of NBA Cup group play on Oct. 30, a game televised by Amazon’s Prime Video. It will be the Sixers’ second matchup against the defending champions in the season’s first two weeks, following an opening night visit to Madison Square Garden on Oct. 20.

The Sixers’ other NBA Cup group play games will be Nov. 6 at the Cleveland Cavaliers (Prime), Nov. 25 vs. the Miami Heat (ESPN), and Nov. 27 at the Indiana Pacers.

The Sixers’ other known games are a Christmas Day matchup at the Los Angeles Lakers and their Oct. 22 home opener against the Cavaliers. The remaining schedule will be released Thursday afternoon, per the NBA.

The Sixers are coming off a transformative offseason in which they added the legendary LeBron James and All-NBA wing Jaylen Brown to a core already featuring All-NBA guard Tyrese Maxey, former NBA MVP Joel Embiid, and rising star guard VJ Edgecombe. They are considered title contenders in a deep Eastern Conference.
