Blurring the lines between cable television and the internet streamers, Comcast Corp. said Wednesday that Amazon Prime Video shows and entertainment will be available through millions of X1 cable set-top boxes.

Comcast also now makes available Netflix and YouTube on the X1 set-top box as it transforms into a one-stop destination for viewing broadcast and cable television networks, plus streaming services.

Amazon Prime -- which includes the video service -- costs $119 a year. There are more than 100 million Amazon Prime customers, Amazon chief executive Jeff Bezos disclosed this year. Amazon Prime Video shows include Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Comcast said that a Prime Video subscription can give viewers access to 150 Prime Video Channels.

“Prime Video is a fantastic extension of the programming choices available to our customers," said Matt Strauss, executive vice president for Xfinity Services. “By integrating hundreds of thousands of live and on-demand choices from the best networks, studios and streaming services, our customers can instantly search, control, and watch all of their entertainment in one place.”

Comcast said the Amazon service will be available to all its customers in the Philadelphia region and nationwide over the next week. Some already have it.
