Two people out for a hike in Ridley Creek State Park this week discovered human remains while on their excursion, according to police.
The hikers made the discovery in the park in Upper Providence Township around 12:30 p.m. Friday and called 911, Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.
The Delaware County Medical Examiner’s Office was among the agencies to respond, police said, and it confirmed that the remains were human.
Police did not provide additional details about the condition of the remains, say how long they may have been there, or say if they believe the person may have been the victim of a crime.
An investigation is ongoing, police said, and involves state police and Upper Providence Township Police.
