Party nets arrest for ex-stripper

PITTSBURGH - A former exotic dancer turned teacher's aide has been charged with corrupting minors and has resigned her school post after police said they found her in a hotel room with cocaine, alcohol and three teenagers.

Abbiejane Swogger, 34, of Natrona, was also charged yesterday with possession of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia, police in New Kensington said.

She said she had rented the hotel room to party with friends because she didn't like to drink in front of her sons.

Swogger resigned Monday as an aide to a special-needs student in the Highlands School District, outside Pittsburgh, after news reports about the hotel raid. Police said they found 9.5 grams of crack cocaine and a digital scale in her room.

Swogger has denied wrongdoing.

"I didn't even know that stuff was in my room," Swogger told the Associated Press, referring to the cocaine. She referred further questions to her attorney, Michael Foglia, who did not immediately return calls.

New Kensington police detective Dennis Marsili said Swogger had once worked as an exotic danger.

Police from two nearby towns went to check the hotel Friday after two teenage girls reportedly ran away from home. Police had learned Swogger, whose teenage son attends Highland High School, had a room there.

Three teens, ages 15 and 16, were in the room, along with open and empty beer cans, and there was an odor of marijuana, police said.

Swogger has said her oldest son, 15, came to check on her at the room and some teens with him refused to leave the room when he did. She said no adult had sex with any teen in the room, though some of the teens may have "discreetly" had sex. *
