Full 2025 Eagles schedule

The NFL announced the full 2025 schedule and made some interesting choices for the Eagles.

For starters, the Birds highly anticipated matchup against NFL MVP Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills won’t take place until Week 17, when both teams might have little to play for. Meanwhile, a Super Bowl rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs will happen swiftly in Week 2, followed immediately by another playoff rematch against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 3.

Another quirk is the decision to lump games against two NFC East opponents — the New York Giants and Washington Commanders — together on the schedule. The Birds will play both their games against the Giants over the course of three weeks in October, while the Eagles will need to wait all the way to Week 16 before their first game against the Commanders.

Predicting the point spread for every Eagles game

While we’re still waiting for the full schedule release and the exact order of the games, here’s a look at how Christian Cipollini, a senior trading manager at BetMGM and an Eagles fan who grew up around casinos in Atlantic City, sees the lines shaping up for the Eagles divisional matchups this season (you can click here to see his predictions for all 17 games) …

Eagles vs. Cowboys (Sept. 4, 8:20 p.m., NBC)

“This one is about seven [points] consensus in most spots, which I think feels about right, although, I mean, Dallas has gotten a little bit better recently with getting [George] Pickens, so it kind of helps their offense,” Cipollini said. “But they are still a bit weak. And running back and defense is interesting too, because it’s one of those that could definitely make a turn.” | Week 1 betting line: Eagles -7 (BetMGM)

Source: Eagles-Chiefs Super Bowl rematch will be on Sept. 14

The Eagles and Chiefs will face off in a rematch of the Super Bowl in Week 2 of the 2025 season at Kansas City on Sunday, Sept. 14, according to a league source.

The Chiefs will get almost an immediate opportunity to enact some sort of revenge for the 40-22 drubbing they endured in New Orleans in February.

The Eagles have seen a lot of Kansas City over the last several years. In 2021, the Chiefs won in Philadelphia, 42-30, in coach Nick Sirianni’s first season. The two teams met a year later, of course, in a memorable 2023 Super Bowl that Andy Reid’s team won, 38-35.

A couple of big games for Eagles' division rivals leak out

The Washington Commanders, who lost to the Eagles in the NFC championship game in January, will reportedly open their season at home against fellow NFC East foe, the New York Giants. That means all four NFC East teams will square off in Week 1, with the Eagles already set to host the Cowboys.

Meanwhile, the Cowboys annual Thanksgiving game has been released, with Dallas set to host the Kansas City Chiefs on Turkey Day.

Report: Eagles to face Giants on 'Thursday Night Football', but no date yet

The prime-time games keep rolling in for the Eagles, who can now add a Thursday Night Football matchup against the division rival New York Giants to their slate of growing national TV games.

While the date for this game remains a mystery, the Eagles will also open their season on a Thursday night against a division rival: the Dallas Cowboys. But since that's the season kickoff game, it doesn't technically count as a Thursday Night Football appearance.

Chiefs will face the Cowboys on Thanksgiving

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs will travel to Dallas on Thanksgiving to face the Cowboys, CBS announced Wednesday morning.

It'll be the Chiefs' first Thanksgiving appearance since 2006.

We already know the Eagles won't be selected to play on Thanksgiving because the Birds will take the field on Black Friday against the Chicago Bears.

Sielski: Eagles couldn’t have asked for a better opening-night opponent

The Eagles could not have asked for a better opening-night opponent than the one they got. They’ll face the Dallas Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday, Sept. 4, which is enough to make you think that perhaps there was some kind of handshake deal between the NFL and the Eagles that granted them such a favorable matchup.

Roger Goodell: “Quid pro quo, Jeffrey. I ban the Tush Push. You get Brian Schottenheimer in his first game and Dak Prescott coming off hamstring surgery and Dallas coming off a 7-10 season. I give you things. You give me things. Quid pro quo, Jeffrey. Tick tock, tick tock. Poor little Micah Parsons is waiting …”

Dallas delivers all the ancillary benefits of an opening-night opponent for the Eagles — a marquee franchise, plenty of big-name players, Jerry Jones and his Succession-ish stewardship of the team — and few of the risks.

The NFL will play seven international games in 2025, the most in the league's history.

What will be different about the NFL schedule this year?

This is the third season of an 11-year deal with TV and streaming partners worth over $100 billion, so the general schedule should look similar to last season, including another Black Friday game.

But there will be a few quirks. Here are some things to know:

  1. NFL made it easier to flex Thursday Night Football games: Flex scheduling is back for Amazon’s Prime Video this year, but the NFL decreased the minimum required announcement time by a week, from 28 days to 21 days. That gives the league more flexibility to shift up to two bad games between Week 13 and Week 17.

  2. Flex scheduling is back for Monday Night Football: Like last season, ESPN will be eligible to flex Sunday games into Monday night between Week 14 and Week 17, with teams required to get 12 days notice.

  3. YouTube is streaming an NFL game: In another first for the league, YouTube will stream this year’s Week 1 Brazil game featuring the Los Angeles Chargers. Fans with YouTubeTV will be able to watch it there, too.

  4. Peacock gets exclusive game after Christmas: NBC’s streaming subscription service will stream a yet-to-be-announced game in prime-time in Week 17 on Saturday, Dec. 27.
