There is a real-life Tank and Libby behind Tank & Libby’s, a cheery, family-run breakfast-luncher in Pilgrim Gardens shopping center in Drexel Hill. (The address “1011 Pontiac Rd." may confuse your GPS; set it for “Pilgrim Gardens.”)

Alex “Tank” Reid - he’s 26, Culinary Institute of America-trained and from Margate - and Joe “Libby” Libertore - he’s 43 and a Four Seasons alum from Haverford - met while working at the Wegmans store in King of Prussia.

T&L greets the morning daily at 7 with La Colombe coffee and a full-on, served-all-day breakfast menu of hearty stuff, including omelets/frittatas, Benedicts, French toast, and the chicken and waffles ($12) you see before you.

The chicken is skinless and ever-so-lightly breaded, and — stay calm now — the waffles are made with bits of bacon inside the batter.

There’s also a skillet called Six-Hour Hash ($11) — pulled corned beef, potatoes, peppers, and onions topped with two poached eggs and served with toast.

Lunch (similarly big-portioned salads and sandwiches) starts at 11 a.m. It wraps at 2:30.
