Monday’s South Jersey Roundup: Gateway advances to quarterfinals of South Group 1 girls’ lacrosse playoffs

Gateway beat Burlington City, 14-7, to advance to the second round of the South Group 1 girls’ lacrosse playoffs. The Gators will face top-seeded Haddon Township on Thursday in the quarterfinals. Erin McCormick led Gateway with four goals. Julianna Farina scored a hat-trick. Alexa Enright had a goal and two assists. Abigail Jones and Alyssia Saraullo each scored twice.
Boys’ Lacrosse
Washington Township beat Eastern, 13-7, in an Olympic Conference matchup. GianLuca Lockhart and Zach Grassi each scored five goals.

Paul VI remained undefeated by beating Bishop Eustace, 3-2. The Eagles improved to 15-0 and 8-0 in the Olympic Conference’s National Division. Paul VI will be the No. 13 seed in the Non-Public A tournament and face No. 4 Bergen Catholic on Saturday.

St. Augustine lost, 8-7, to La Salle in overtime. Shane Osborne scored the game-winning goal for the Explorers.

Rancocas Valley beat Moorestown Friends, 18-3. The Red Devils outscored the Foxes 8-1 in the first quarter. Dan Myers scored a team-high five goals and had three assists. Shane Langefeld scored a goal and had three assists. Alex Everard had a hat trick.

Seneca beat Clearview, 6-3. Ben Peters and Jeff Weightman each scored twice for the Golden Eagles. Seneca held Clearview to one goal in the second half.
Boys’ Volleyball
Kingsway beat Williamstown, 2-1. Dragons coach Brent Dodulik won his 200th career match. The Dragons are the No. 10 seed in the upcoming state tournament and will play No. 7 Manchester Township on May 21.
