Four teens played hoops on the slick basketball court at James Allen Shuler Playground at 27th and Clearfield Streets after their Mid-Range Morris Basketball League game was rained out on July 23. The summer league is open to players who graduated or left high school but haven’t entered college. It was founded in 2012 by Dawud Morris, head men’s basketball coach at Cheyney University, to help young men and women in Philadelphia stay connected to the sport they love.
