Two construction workers died Monday and two other people were injured after police say the driver of a tractor-trailer caused a multi-vehicle crash on the U.S. Rt. 30 Bypass in Chester County.
The crash occurred at about 6:50 p.m., around mile marker 270, in Valley Township, according to Pennsylvania State Police.
The workers had been implementing a traffic pattern and a work zone had been established at the time of the crash, police said. They were pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released the victims’ names.
Two additional people involved in the crash were taken to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police said an early investigation found that the driver of the tractor-trailer caused the crash, which involved a total of four cars.
