6ABC's Eva Pilgrim just got the call to go to the big leagues. On Jan. 4, she'll join ABC News as a correspondent. Pilgrim's last day at 6ABC is Jan. 2.

Pilgrim joined 6ABC in 2012, and she's served as both an anchor and a reporter. In a statement, ABC News President James Goldstein, who referred to 6ABC as a "powerhouse,' praised Pilgrim's work on the Amtrak derailment and Pope Francis' visit to Philadelphia, as well as her investigative work. Goldstein also added some fun facts about Pilgrim: "While at the University of Florida, Eva was a member of the debate team and still loves a good argument. She is a self-proclaimed chemistry nerd. When not at work, she enjoys playing the violin and riding her motorcycle."

A motorcycle?! Eva, we hardly knew ya!

"We are excited for Eva and very happy that she is staying in the Disney/ABC family," said 6ABC President & General Manager, Bernie Prazenica. "Eva made a great contribution to Action News and we will miss her but we look forward to seeing her back on 6ABC in her new role very soon."
