Will Smith may be worth an estimated $240 million, but that fortune didn't help the Philly native when he recently ran out of gas in Los Angeles.
In fact, the Fresh Prince had to bum $10 from an unsuspecting fan to get moving again, Smith said on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday.
During an appearance to promote his upcoming film Collateral Beauty, Smith recalled the incident that left him about 30 minutes from home and without his wallet. He couldn't call wife Jada Pinkett Smith because she was too far away to drive and meet him, so Smith had to weigh his options.
The Suicide Squad star did some quick thinking, and pulled into a gas station to look around before spotting someone who could help.
"I looked over on the other side and I saw a dude," Smith told Kimmel. "He was like 36, and I was like, 'That dude is a Fresh Prince fan.' You can just spot them. So I kind of rolled the window down, and after a couple of minutes, he was like, 'Will?' "
Naturally, the fan asked for a selfie with the star, which gave Smith his in.
"I said, 'Yeah, man, I need about $10,' " Smith said.
The fan obliged, and Smith was able to make his way home. The Philly native even offered to pay back the $10, but the fan refused to give Smith his information.
"He was like, 'Dude, no way. No way. That's yours,' " Smith said.
Smith also discussed the upcoming Bad Boys 3, which he told Kimmel was "very, very, very close" to starting production.
