Breweries from all 50 states jointly create the ‘Biggest Small Beer Ever Made’

Budweiser might be temporarily calling itself “America” these days, but in reality, small, independent breweries are building beer culture here in the US.

Budweiser might be temporarily calling itself "America" these days, but in reality, small, independent breweries are building beer culture here in the U.S.

And next week, May 16-20, they'll be putting that fact on display for American Craft Beer Week with a beer that the Brewers Association calls the "Biggest Small Beer Ever Made."

More than 4,000 breweries from all 50 states joined together to create the Biggest Small Beer Ever Made, which was produced by all participating breweries using the same recipe and ingredients. The result is a collaborative brew for CraftBeer.com and the Brewers Association's #MakeSmallBeerBig campaign that symbolizes the community that fostered it.

"Craft beer is a unique community where competitors work together to provide beers that represent authenticity, quality, and innovation," said Brewers Association craft beer program director and CraftBeer.com publisher Julia Herz via a release. "The unity and collaboration behind the Biggest Small Beer Ever Made shows brewers believe that the success of other independent brewers is their own success."

The brew will be available for tasting at more than 100 breweries throughout the US for American Craft Beer Week. And while we don't have any place to get it right here in Philadelphia, the tri-state area has several involved breweries that will be serving it all week:

  1. Mispillion River Brewing — Milford, DE

  2. Rinn Duin Brewing — Toms River, NJ

  3. Gaslight Brewery and Restaurant — South Orange, NJ

  4. Flying Fish Brewing Co. — Somerdale, NJ

  5. Tomfoolery Brewing — Hammonton, NJ

  6. Rock Bottom Pittsburgh — Homestead, PA

  7. North County Brewing Co. — Slippery Rock, PA
