Three area eateries make OpenTable’s ‘Most Romantic Restaurants’ list

Valentine's Day is fast approaching, but Philadelphia area folks need not worry about finding the right place to celebrate the holiday's festivities. After all, our turf houses three of the most romantic restaurants in America.

Or at least that's what online restaurant reservation service OpenTable found after aggregating millions of restaurant reviews to determine the top 100 romantic restaurants in America. According to OpenTable, more than 20,000 restaurants were included as part of that survey.

Of those 20,000 restaurants, Philadelphia's own Bistro Romano in Society Hill made the cut. As did the Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm out in Holicong (near New Hope), along with Exton's Duling Kurtz House. New Jersey had a similar showing, with two restaurants on the list: the Peter Shields Inn in Cape May, and Rutherford's Café Matisse.

The list was determined by analyzing some 5 million OpenTable reviews published between Dec. 7, 2014, and Dec. 6, 2015.

As explained in a release, OpenTable then sorted qualified restaurants by the percentage of reviews which used "romantic" as a descriptor for each establishment.
