In the race for City Controller, Democratic candidate Rebecca Rhynhart raised the most money during the second fund-raising cycle of the season but her opponent still has the most cash on hand.

Rhynhart, the city’s former Chief Administrative Officer, raised $105,709 and has a total of $174,796 sitting in her campaign fund’s account. Incumbent Alan Butkovitz raised $51,100 and has a total balance of $224,387, according to campaign finance reports filed Friday.

Republican Mike Tomlinson, who is running unopposed in the primary, reported not raising any money during the second cycle.

The fund-raising period was from March 28 until May 1.

Rhynhart had many small (under $250) donations, while Butkovitz had some large checks come in from several unions. An $11,900 donation from the Steamfitters Local Union 420 was Butkovitz’s biggest single donation, followed by the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers with $3,000.
The primary election is May 16.
