Everyone was excited to claim their cutting board. I want to chop the celery! I want to chop the carrots! I want to chop the tomato! It was a good time to explain various options for cutting vegetables. The recipes called for dicing, grating, slicing, julienning, and chopping. Each student chose their vegetable or fruit and patiently watched as they each took a turn practicing a new technique for preparing the food. When it finally came to massaging the kale, Elanny braved the shuddering of the other girls and put her hands in the bowl to begin.
