Lentils a new, pleasing ingredient
Soup truly warmed the souls of the student chefs at Cayuga this week as we braced ourselves for cooler weather. "I could eat soup every night," said Zymir Brown, when asked his favorite time to enjoy a nice bowl of warm, yummy goodness. Zymir is our resident chopper and as he excitedly diced onions and celery for our Abruzze Lentil soup he modeled his knife skills for fellow cook, Elijah Lopez. "I can't wait to share this with my sister!" exclaimed Alexavier Aviles, "my mom would love this, too." Though none of our cooks had tried lentils before they were more than pleased with their work. As Felipe Ortiz sipped the final drops of broth from his bowl he tried his Waldorf salad which, to his surprise, was "so good!"
