Does Citizens Bank Park raise adjacent home values?
According to wonks at Trulia, homes near CBP have higher median values compared to the rest of the city.
At the beginning of the season, the Phillies should take every win they can get. And Citizen's Bank Park neighbors should take advantage of every opportunity to feel good about their proximity to more than 80 home games, home traffic and tailgating.
According to wonks at Trulia, homes near CBP have higher median values compared to the rest of the city. By their calculation, the median metro home value in Philadelphia stands at $138,670, and the median value near the stadium is $176,572. Not too bad. That puts Philly in the eight spot, with the Yankees leading the way. In New York, the median metro home value is a staggering $407,373, and the value near Yankee stadium is some $740,106.
At the bottom of the order? Baltimore's Camden Yards, where home values are higher than those in Philly ($211,724) but still lag behind the city's median metro value ($251,619). Trulia says this shouldn't be surprising, because newer stadiums in flourishing downtown neighborhoods tend to have higher home values.
South Philly homeowners may want to keep this good fortune in mind once the season gets into full swing.
