Chip Kelly wold only reveal that Nick Foles has a "crack" in his clavicle -- another way of saying Foles broke his collarbone -- and the Eagles are awaiting result's from Foles' MRI on Monday to determine a timetable.

But Kelly offered his support of Mark Sanchez, who will now take over as the Eagles' quarterback.

"I feel great about Mark. We felt great about him all along," Kelly said. "I always said you need two quarterback. ...I thought he did a great job in our system. He played outstanding in the preseason and showed no rust when he got in there against Houston yesterday. We feel real confident. We feel obviously really bad for Nick that he's out, but we feel very confident in Mark if we have to go in that direction."

Kelly said he does not view Sanchez as a backup quarterback -- he views Sanchez as the starting quarterback. He lauded Sanchez's preparation and Sanchez's makeup to go along with the physical tools such as Sanchez's arm and athleticism.

"We didn't change anything," Kelly said of the Texans game. "He can run everything."

**Kelly would not confirm that DeMeco Ryans has a ruptured Achillies tendon, but that's the injury for the Eagles' defensive leader. The Eagles will turn to Casey Matthews and Emmanuel Acho at that spot. Kelly said either player can make defensive calls, as can Mychal Kendricks. Look for Matthews to be the biggest beneficary of playing time.

"I think Casey's been really, really, really consistent and I think he's got a very, very, very good understanding of what we're doing defensively," Kelly said. "Can set the front, can make the right calls. He's an in-the-box linebacker. Can make the tackles from tackle to tackle. I think he's an instinctive football player. Been really happy with how he's played this season in particular."

**Guard Evan Mathis is set to return this week. Todd Herremans' status remains a question. Kelly said Andrew Gardner or Matt Tobin would play right guard in Herremans' place if Herremans cannot play.
