Restaurant notes: LoBianco heads to the beach

The Collingswood BYOB does a quick and temporary relo to Margate.

When a restaurateur says he's "goin' fishin'," he is not kidding. Nick LoBianco, who with his wife, Stephanie, runs LoBianco New American Cuisine in Collingswood, has decided to button up the shop for the summer and move to a spot in Margate. Before opening at The LumberYard in 2007, the LoBiancos had a restaurant elsewhere in Margate.

Nick LoBianco tells me that they were approached less than a month ago about a space at 20 S. Douglas Ave., which previously saw life as La Fontana and Bellini's Bistro.

LoBianco opens for dinner Wednesday (7/28).

It's pretty much the same menu, except for more seafood; entree prices in the $20s; open dinner only Tuesdays through Sundays.

"We decided to try to catch a little of what's left of the season down the shore and run it until the end of September and reopen Collingswood the first week of October," he says. "As you well know, there is not much going on in Philly or its suburbs during this time. So instead of closing and taking a vacation we have been killing ourselves operating Collingswood and readying the new Margate location."

The plan after this summer is to keep Collingswood open year-round and operate Margate seasonally May through October. So... It's at 20 S. Douglas Ave, Margate, N.J., 609-350-6493.
