Shake Shack and Honeygrow to Marlton

If approved, they won't open till late 2017 at the earliest.

Honeygrow, the fast-growing, Fishtown-based salad/stir-fry restaurant chainlet, confirms a report that it will open its second South Jersey location, in a shopping center in Marlton.

Also, a representative of Shake Shack, identified as Honeygrow's future next-door neighbor, told me that he had seen the report on CourierPost.com "but we don't have anything to confirm there."

That said, the rep added, "we're excited to share that we are working to bring Shake Shack to Marlton upon all municipal approvals."

The New York-based Shake Shack, founded by restaurateur Danny Meyer, has two locations at King of Prussia Mall, one in Center City Philadelphia, and a fourth regional location in University City. Three Shacks are located in North Jersey.

On Oct. 17, Evesham Township's zoning board will hear plans for the proposed building at Marlton Commons, the Courier reported.

Justin Rosenberg, Honeygrow's founder, told me that if approved, his location would open in late 2017 or even early 2018.

Rosenberg said Honeygrow - which opened at Temple University last month - is expected to open five additional locations before a Marlton shop would come online: later this month at the King of Prussia Town Center; in early November in Baltimore; later this fall in Washington, D.C.; a second Baltimore shop in 2017; and downtown Brooklyn in March 2017.
