Delaware no longer 'Small Wonder' state

Now it's 'Endless Discoveries'

Having scrapped its longtime "Small Wonder" tourism tagline, Gov. Jack Markell and the Delaware Tourism Office went to Brandywine Creek State Park to unveil its new brand campaign under the slogan "Endless Discoveries."

The idea is to persuade more ad-watching media-consumers in nearby states to spend more time exploring tax-free shopping along I-95, gambling halls and racetracks along the Delaware 1 toll road to the Rehoboth-area Shore resorts, scattered parks and rec centers, du Pont family homes-turned-museums, Delaware Bay muskrat dinners, and other tourist destinations that the state says employ 39,000 people, or nearly 1 in 10 working Delawareans.

The Delaware Tourism Office promises to use the promo phrase in ads in Good Housekeeping, Southern Living and Oprah! magazines, and "even (in) television commercials designed to increase national awareness of the state as a desirable place to vacation."

"The challenge has always been to show others that Delaware is far more than just a place they pass through on I-95," Linda Parkowski, Director of the Delaware Tourism Office said. Plus, they got Cabela's! Miles Partnership is Delaware's ad agency.
