Sideshow: Bieber gracious, fans aren't
When you think of Justin Bieber fans, you picture cute, cotton-candy-fed, prepubescent girls and boys filled with joy. It turns out they're vicious, pop-crazed piranhas, rabid French-poodle-size maniacs. So, not true!

When you think of Justin Bieber fans, you picture cute, cotton-candy-fed, prepubescent girls and boys filled with joy. It turns out they're vicious, pop-crazed piranhas, rabid French-poodle-size maniacs. So, not true!
Beliebers went berserk when the Canadian teen was denied the best-new-artist Grammy by some chick named Esperanza Spalding. Justin, 16, said he was upset. "I worked really hard these past few years, and you know, I'm not going to lie - I was disappointed," he told MTV News.
"But, you know, I'm going to come back [next year], and we'll take a few home." Justin hugged it out with Spalding and issued this fatwa: "Bieber fans, don't get too upset. . . . Be happy." Some didn't take his advice.
"JUSTIN BIEBER DESERVED IT GO DIE IN A HOLE. WHO THE HECK ARE YOU ANYWAY," one wrote on Esperanza's Wikipedia entry.
Beliebers previously have sent death threats to Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez, and Greg Leuch.
Their defiant, eternal plastic love
Blaine, the Aussie surfer who stole Barbie away from that dreamy, all-American hero Ken, is out of the picture! Mattel has announced that the nation's most beloved couple - whose plastic passion is an inspiration to us all - have reconciled.
The couple, who began dating in 1961, have surmounted all sorts of challenges, including their lack of organs, sexual or otherwise. Blaine broke them up on Valentine's Day 2004.
"Ken and I were made for each other," Barbie tells USA Today. "Our love is grander than any dream house."
Speaking of Selena Gomez . . .
Teen star Selena Gomez, 18, the tabloids say, is totally dating Justin Bieber - and she has been condemned to death by a few Bieber- heads for it. But Selena will not be deterred.
She was unflappable Sunday when TV Guide Network's Chris Harrison asked about the rumors. "It comes with the job," she said. "I love him, though, very much."
The context leads us to believe the love she refers to isn't Eros (the sexy variety) but Phileo (as in the brotherly kind).
Breakin' the law, breakin' the law
Lady Gaga fans be warned, this may shock and appall you: The new millennium's answer to Doris Day admits she consumes the drug marijuana, known by rebel hipster types as pot, weed, ganja, and funny stuff.
"I smoke a lot of pot when I write music," Her GagaShip told Anderson Cooper on Sunday on 60 Minutes. She's a hard case: "So I'm not going to, like, sugar-coat it for 60 Minutes that, you know . . . I'm some, like, sober human being, 'cause I'm not."
Her Ladyship also said the world was full of haters who "want to see me fail. They want to see me fall on stage. They want to see me vomiting out of a nightclub."
(For cutting-edge scholarship on the ravages of pot, see the 1936 film Reefer Madness.)
Charlie Sheen all back together again?
Is it really a good idea for Charlie Sheen to undergo drug and alcohol rehab at home?
Charlie, who was hospitalized briefly after a reported 36-hour binge of booze, coke, and porn stars, says he's totally sober.
"I feel great, man. I feel great," he said during a phone chat on The Dan Patrick Show.
Charlie insisted that he was ready to go back to his show, Two and a Half Men. Fact, he says he went to work, only to find the place empty. (He does understand the show's on hiatus, right?)
"They said, 'Get your act together,' and I did," he said of the show's producers.
"Check it, it's like I heal really quickly. But I unravel pretty quickly."
Today in LiLoLand . . .
Lindsay Lohan's lawyer tells People that the necklace she allegedly stole isn't worth $2,500, but less than $1,000. It means she should be charged with a misdemeanor, not a felony. LiLo adds, "A $5 lump of coal with a $2,500 price tag is still a $5 lump of coal." Meanwhile, TMZ says a police report cites LiLo's assistant as saying LiLo "wanted to give the necklace back to the store the day after she took it from the store, but she was very busy."
Playboy Mansion has cooties?
Health officials are investigating reports that more than two dozen people who attended a conference Feb. 3 at the Playboy Mansion have become sick. The event was attended by 700 people from 30 countries.
There are rumors it may be legionellosis, a milder form of Legionnaires' disease, which was transmitted by a fog machine.
Mansion reps say it's nonsense: "There is no truth in the rumor that anyone caught anything at the Playboy Mansion."
No business like show business
USA Today says CBS's broadcast of the Grammys drew 26.6 mil viewers, the biggest audience since '01, according to preliminary Nielsen numbers.
Guillermo del Toro fans, be heartened: The Mexican helmer's Katie Holmes- and Guy Pearce-starring thriller, Don't Be Afraid of the Dark, which was shelved last year when its studio, Miramax, was sold by Disney, has been resurrected. The Hollywood Reporter says the pic is due Aug. 12.
The next Spider-Man movie no longer has to be referred to as The Next Spider-Man Movie: Sony Pictures yesterday said it had baptized the Andrew Garfield-starring pic The Amazing Spider-Man.
Roseanne Barr will return to TV in a Lifetime reality show, says USA Today, which will follow Barr, beau Johnny Argent, and son Jake's life, as, um, farmers. Barr manages a 40-acre macadamia and livestock farm on Hawaii's Big Island.
A federal court on Monday dismissed David Beckham's libel and slander lawsuit against In Touch mag over a story that said he cheated on his wife with a prostitute.
Gabor daughter can't see mom?
Zsa Zsa Gabor's only child, Francesca Hilton, says her stepdad, Prince Frederic Von Anhalt, won't let her see her ailing mother in what could be her last days. "He says all I'm after is the money," Hilton tells celeb show Inside Edition. "I've been with my mother longer than he has. He's her ninth husband."
Gabor, 94, wrote in her memoirs that Francesca was conceived in 1946 from rape by then-husband Conrad Hilton. She has accused her daughter of larceny and fraud, saying she once forged Gabor's signature to get a $2 mil loan.
