Soul singer Jill Scott has filed for divorce from her husband, Mike Dobson. Jilly from Philly married Dobson in June last year. The pair did not have any children together.

Scott, 45, recently filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences, TMZ reports. Scott also blamed "inappropriate marital conduct that such further cohabitation would be unsafe and improper" for the split, court documents state.

Dobson told gossip site Bossip that he was "blindsided" by the divorce. In the same interview, Dobson referred to Scott as "an evil woman." He continued that she had issues with men because she has no men in her family.

"She likes to emasculate men – that's her problem," Dobson said to Bossip. "I told her, she's from Philly, but I'm from New York, and if you want to try to disgrace me, try to slander me, I can fight dirty."

According to the gossip site, Scott and Dobson have been living in separate homes since the beginning of September. Scott also reportedly is asking that a prenuptial agreement be enforced.

Dobson is Scott's second husband after Lyzel Williams, a DJ and artist who she married in 2001 during a Hawaiian vacation. That marriage dissolved in 2007.

Another relationship followed in 2008, when Scott announced that she was engaged to drummer Li'l John Roberts. The pair had a son, Jett Hamilton Roberts, in April 2009, and announced their split in June 2009.

Scott recently appeared in the Lifetime movie Flint with Queen Latifah, and she will next star in Black Lightning, a TV series based on the comic character, on the CW playing Lady Eve.

Scott was recently honored with a spot on Philadephia's Walk of Fame on Broad Street, along with Patti LaBelle and her Labelle group members Sarah Dash and Nona Hendryx, Sister Sledge, McFadden & Whitehead, Sister Rosetta Tharpe, and the Soul Survivors
