Radnor police: Girl threatened school shooting

A Radnor High School senior who had a "fascination" with the Columbine High School massacre of 15 years ago wrote about shooting "everyone in classrooms" and blowing up the cafeteria, police said Monday.

A Radnor High School senior who had a "fascination" with the Columbine High School massacre of 15 years ago wrote about shooting "everyone in classrooms" and blowing up the cafeteria, police said Monday.

"I could be the first female shooter," the student, who was not identified, wrote in her journal, according to township Police Superintendent William Colarulo. "I'm homicidal, and I'm fine with that."

Colarulo said students were not in any danger. Police searched the student's home and her locker at school, and no weapons were found.

Colarulo did not say how the journal entries came to the attention of school officials, who alerted police.

"She made references to killing a teacher, killing fellow students in a certain manner, and also injuring herself," said Colarulo.

"I want to trap them, pick them off one by one," the girl wrote. "Blow up the cafeteria, shoot everyone in classrooms. . . . Imagine the power, the bullets leaving the gun with a loud bang, piercing kids around me, the way they collapse, their blood splattering the floor . . . the screams."

Colarulo said the student, who would be charged as a juvenile with making terroristic threats, has a history of treatment for "psychological issues."

"She is getting the help she needs," he said.

He said she had a "fascination" with the 1999 incident during which two seniors opened fire inside Columbine, in Littleton, Colo. Twelve students and a teacher were slain, and 21 others were injured.

Colarulo said the girl's parents were cooperating with police.

"We would be remiss if we didn't take these threats seriously," he said.
