CLUB ONYX, which calls itself the "nation's #1 hip-hop strip club," promises on its website that the "talented and dedicated staff" will make every visit a "memorable experience."

Sometimes, though, even the best exotic dancers get upstaged.

Two armed security guards were the ones making memories early yesterday morning, when they opened fire on a minivan driver who'd allegedly tried to run one of them over outside the South Philadelphia club.

"I'll kill everyone here," the 27-year-old driver allegedly said before the shooting, which occurred about 12:30 a.m.

Police said the driver - who'd just been involved in another shooting incident before arriving at Club Onyx - fled the scene in his green Kia minivan, which was later found at the Interstate 95 off-ramp. He was shot in both shoulders and both legs and taken to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The security guards, a 35-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, had not been charged, but Officer Christine O'Brien, a police spokeswoman, said yesterday that the case remained a "very active and open investigation." The driver had not been charged, either.

The argument apparently started after the driver was kicked out of the club on Columbus Boulevard near the Walt Whitman Bridge. During a previous altercation with his wife, someone in a Honda had pulled up and tried to intervene. The woman told police that she heard four gunshots as she was running toward the club and her husband then followed her. No one was injured.

In March 2013, a 23-year-old man was fatally shot in the parking lot of Club Onyx at 4:35 a.m.

A year earlier, one of the club's off-duty guards shot and killed Erik Brock, 26, after an argument over identification at the door.

In December 2010, a 28-year-old and a 19-year-old were shot in the parking lot of Club Onyx.

Three days later, masked robbers stole $33,000 from the club.
