A Roman Catholic priest arrested in Montgomery County Friday is accused of grabbing a man's genitals at the North Penn YMCA, according to a release from the Lansdale Police Department.

Rev. John Roebuck, 64, has been placed on administrative leave from his post as the Parochial Vicar of Saint Stanislaus Church in Lansdale.

Investigators said a man reported meeting Roebuck Dec. 15 in the YMCA sauna. Roebuck allegedly extended his hand to say goodbye to the man as the two stood in the gym's locker room a short time later. When the man shook Roebuck's hand, the priest allegedly used his other hand to grab the man's genitals.

The victim reported the incident to YMCA staff, who confronted Roebuck. Roebuck denied any knowledge of the incident, according to authorities.

An Archdiocese of Philadelphia spokesman issued a statement Friday calling the charges "deeply troubling" and confirming the church is fully cooperating with the investigation.

Roebuck was arraigned and charged with indecent assault and harassment. A judge set his bail at $50,000. Roebuck is next due in court Thursday for a preliminary hearing.
