With stunts & gun battles, film shoots in Center City

A Hollywood studio has taken over several streets in Center City and is staging chases and gun battles for an action thriller featuring the star of the Transporter series.

A Hollywood studio has taken over several streets in Center City and is staging chases and gun battles for an action thriller featuring the star of the Transporter series.

Several thoroughfares will be shut down through Nov. 24 for the Jason Statham flick called Safe.

The Washington West neighborhood was alerted earlier this week that parking would be banned on several stretches due to "car stunts, pyrotechnics and SIMULATED GUNFIRE."

This afternoon, city police issued notice that Broad Street between Sansom and Locust Streets would be closed from 6:30 p.m. until 6 a.m. Saturday morning.

On Tuesday, Nov. 23, 18th Street will be closed from Walnut to Chestnut Streets from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Sansom Street will also be shut down from 17th to 19th Streets from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, Nov. 24, Chestnut Street from 4th to 5th streets will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
