Police are questioning at least one man in a shooting that left two people wounded,, one critically, outside a house party near Temple University's North Philadelphia campus.
Police are questioning at least one man in a shooting that left two people wounded,, one critically, outside a house party near Temple University's North Philadelphia campus.
No Temple students were directly involved in the incident, the university said.
Police said the gunfire erupted about 1:30 a.m. Friday on the 2200 block of North Park Avenue, where scores were attending a party in a house.
Arriving officers took one 18-year-old man who had been shot the stomach to Temple University Hospital in critical condition, police said. A 23-year-old man also was taken to the hospital, where he was reported 8in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the arm.
Chief Inspector Scott Small told reporters at the scene that arriving officers also saw a man put a handgun on the sidewalk before trying to blend in with the crowd that had gathered.
Police took the 24-year-old man into custody after a struggle and he was being questioned by detectives, Small said.
Small said investigators have video of the shooting from police real time cameras that are on the block.
