The U.S. Marshals Service is offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to the arrest of Derrick Hershal Rollins, who authorities believe fatally shot 29-year-old John Le in a random attack Saturday in Haverford Township.
Rollins, 24, remained at large Wednesday as authorities continued their manhunt. Marshals spokesman James Burke said the search was focusing on Philadelphia, where Rollins lives. Burke and other authorities declined to say whether new leads had materialized since Tuesday, when police raided houses in West Philadelphia and Kensington.
Burke said Rollins should be considered armed and dangerous. Police believe he also fired 17 shots at people in West Philadelphia about 45 minutes before the Le slaying.
In addition to the marshals’ reward, Haverford Township Police are offering a $5,000 reward for information that leads to a conviction, bringing the total pot of potential reward money to $7,500. Tipsters can call 866-869-8477, Burke said.
